Hot Water Spring and Bathing Place for Public
 at Rangiri Ulpatha, Gomarankadawala
Sri Lanka is blessed with number of Hot Springs. One of the wells in Trincomalee in now avail to public under the patronage of Divisional Secretariat, Gomarankadawala and the advice of chief incumbent of thero of rangiri ulpotha raja maha viharaya, Most venerable Ahungalle siri seela visuddhi maha nayaka thero.

The hot water well is also identified as Rankihiriya ulpatha by some locals.

The place is renovated with two separate bathing place for men and women. Changing room is also available.

The place is fully maintained by the Rangiri Ulpatha Raja Maha Viharaya.

Directions to the temple.

Public can visit the easily without much trouble on way of Trincomalee – Anuradhapura Main road and They should turn to Gomarankadawala road from Thiriyaya Junction. They need to turn right to Rangiri Ulpatha Road after 4 km travel and by passing 5 Km travel distance along Rangiri Ulpatha road they can reach to the hot water springs.

The site is also consist of Rangiri Ulpotha archaeological site, Ranavirumaa seya, Rangiri Ulpatha sacred relics.

H.E. the President declares open newly built Relic Chamber and Alms Giving Hall

at Rangiri Ulpatha Raja Maha Viharaya,
Gomarankadawala 

His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena declared open a newly built two storeyed Relic Chamber (Dathu Mandiraya) and Alms Giving Hall (Dana Shalawa) and vested them in Sangha during a religious ceremony held at Rangiri Ulpath Rajamaha Viharaya on 21st October 2013.

Subsequently, H.E. the President placed the Relic Casket in newly built Relic Chamber and offered flowers to it. Further he distributed ‘Pooja Bhumi’ title-deeds for 5 temples in the area as well. Venerable Maha Sangha including Maha Nayaka of the Amarapura Siri Saddhamma Wansha Nikaya, Ven. Ahungalle Siri Seela Visuddi thera, Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife, Hon. Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, Governor of the Eastern Province, Hon. Austin Fernando, senior officers from tri-services and a large number of residents were present on the occasion.

The divisional secretariat of Gomarankadawala and philanthropists of temple were financially contributed to the event success.

Rangiri ulpatha raja maha viharaya is a ancient temple located at Gomarankadawala in Trincomalee district in eastern province of sri lanka.

The chief incumbent of the temple is most venerable Ahungalle Siri Seela Visudhdhi Maha Nayaka Thero of amarapura siri saddamma wansha maha nikaya.
